SMOKECRAFT is a green start up and has refined the cold smoking curacion process. We supply our own wood chips, which we glowing down slowly to capture the essential oils and resins from a variety of different woods and woody shrubs, storing and then mixing them with our Sommerweizen (summer wheat) vodka and other food & beverage products. Perfect for a highball, with tonic or ginger beer, or as a simple smoky body and base for cocktails.

By the way SMOKECRAFT invented a time and capital saving alternativ to traditional barrel aging and needs less than 60% wood instead of barrel aging. so they save forest clearing that could bind immense amounts of CO, lead to this fascinating result.

Our special crafting process

The first and most important difference between what we do and all other methods, before all the similar steps like distillation, is the subsequent production step of refinement. Using custom-made wood chips for secret curacion process, we imbue our products with the essence of wood oil & resin. At first, we were driven by the question of whether glass could be fix and transport the essence of cold smoke. Back in the days in the first beginning we smoked individual wide-neck bottles with wood chips – each and every one by hand, of course. Today its a complete enhanced version of the first process.

It was all very adventurous and romantic, working outdoors in the open air, out in nature, with fire and smoke, but it had some major disadvantages. Amid what felt like thousands of burns, acrid smoke and heat, with many different manual work steps needed and logistical challenges up to the point of completing the bottles, quality fluctuations were our constant companion.

After countless attempts,  observations, and the knowledge gleaned from them, we developed our own secret curacion method, with our own equipment and chips specifically made for food & beverage products. The low residual moisture in the wood helps ensure that our chips glowing slowly. That lets us generate a much more
smooth aromatic smoke and extract it so it can be stored. We’d like to say more, but the steps after that are strictly confidential due to competition. We invented a eco-friendly green start up process to ennoble green food & beverage products and save time, capital and forest clearing that encouraged CO2 binding.

It wasn’t long before we realized we were pursuing a very special, clear idea of a new production method for spirits and foods, and one that demanded consistent aroma and flavor quality. It all starts with the most important
aspect, that of sensory perception, the flavor on the tongue and in the throat. Our Sommerweizen (summer wheat) vodka is a 40% ABV 40% (triple-filtered).

The main flavor comes from the specific hardwood or fruitwood used to make the vodka. An underlying note of smoke, like cotton candy, combines with a sweet, savory summer wheat note. We often hear that it’s unexpectedly smooth, aromatic, woody, and doesn’t burn at all. That is definitely due to the filtration, but most
especially to the quantity of essential oils in the vodka, which our method transfers to it from the wood, keeping the vodka so smooth.
SMOKECRAFT should be enjoyed at room temperature. Inside the glass, you can often watch as fine drops of wood essence form streaks and settle toward the bottom. All sugar free, never barrel aged, with no artificial flavorings. You may also notice hints of cardamom, pepper, and lavender.
